“The 'Book of Boobs' has been created by women for women with a breast cancer diagnosis or genetic predisposition, to help them make more informed choices around different types of breast reconstruction. Through the medium of fine art photography, we aim to showcase the beauty of the models and give hope to every woman impacted by breast cancer.”
This is our process:
I. What we are trying to achieve
Our aim is to give an honest representation of breast reconstruction to allow women to understand what their breast/s might look like after surgery. With the help of patients, nurses and surgeons we are building a library of beautiful imagery that covers the most common types of breast cancer reconstruction surgery. The 'Book of Boobs' will transform women's experiences, reduce the uncertainty women are faced with at this difficult time and hopefully result in a more positive outcome.
II. Using finE ART PHOTOGRAPHY
Through the medium of fine art photography the 'Book of Boobs' showcases the beauty of the reconstructed body and offers a unique alternative to current available imagery.
III. HOW YOUR BRAVERY WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE
Without our brave models the 'Book of Boobs' wouldn't be possible. By taking part in our project you will directly shape the future of what visual decision aids will look like and give hope to women currently going through their decision making process.
